It’s been a long time since the first African tribes got off from the caravan road, somewhere 10km from the trading point, Ouarzazate. Tired from the sun and cargo, they found themselves under the shadows of high mountains. It looked like a seared ground aimed for the sky, craving for rain, to refresh its slopes. Tired and dry.
But in the foothills of the mountains, there was also something lively and flourishing.
Palm groves, a lonely river, and some other people with welcoming faces.
Berber culture was resting in its hidden villages for years. These places were always settled in the very heart of the oasis. Therefore, people who live here learned to coexist with their little piece of paradise, in the middle of the desert. That was not always easy, so don’t be surprised by the amount of respect and pride they show to their home.
And at some point in history, this place started to develop some even more unique features.
By welcoming African tribes on this ground, their cultures began to keep pace with each other. Seeing some of the local ceramic workshops and learning some of their crafts, you will see how intense this integration was. So nowadays, one of the most interesting details about Fint Oasis is, exactly, this unusual encounter.

While Fint Oasis shows the survival of a unique lifestyle and fragile nature, this fortress stands alone on the road. Made by human hand, but now abandoned. Yet it still holds the spirit of history. Kasbah belonged to the family of Thami El Glaoui, Pasha of Marrakech from 1912 to 1956. Due to Pasha's mysterious history, a whole family of Kasbahs got into a tangled story of treachery. Tifoultute is one of them.
Although it seems that its fame has faded, it still catches the eye. And not just that.
Multiple times, Kasbah has been the site for filming.
