Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met by your private driver and taken to your hotel in Casablanca for check-in and a relaxing afternoon. Depending on the time, you may choose to take a guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque at your own expense. It is one of the largest mosques in the world and its handcrafted beauty is breathtaking. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
After breakfast, your 15-day tour in Morocco starts here, you will leave towards Chefchaouen, the famous blue city of Morocco in the Rif Mountains. On road, you will stop at Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King, for lunch and time to enjoy the beautiful coastal city. After lunch, you will continue on to Chefchaouen for the night. Dinner will be served in the hotel.
After breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire. Lunch will be taken in Meknes one of Morocco’s Imperial cities. After lunch, your guide will take you on a tour of Meknes, and then you will head off to Fes, the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco. Dinner will be served in the hotel.
After breakfast, you will begin your guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled-in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the Royal Palace, the tanneries, and the potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch, you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.
After an early breakfast, you will begin your ascent across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend toward the Sahara Desert. Halfway, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. On arrival at the Kasbah in Merzouga, a hot shower or dip in the swimming pool (depending on the weather) will be a treat after the drive. Dinner will be served at the Kasbah.
Most of the day will be spent relaxing at the hotel or exploring the small but interesting desert towns. In the afternoon, you will head off in some 4-wheel drive vehicles across the barren land to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will be set off by a camel for a 1/2-hour trek out onto the dunes to watch the sunset. You will spend the night in Berber tents.
After breakfast, you will return by camel to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. From Erfoud, you set out behind the High Atlas Mountains en route to the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, you will take a walk-up in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey toward the southeast of Morocco. You will stay the night in Dades before you cross the High Atlas Mountains. Dinner will be served at the Kasbah.
After an early breakfast, you set off towards Ouarzazate along the route of 1000 Kasbahs. If you would like, you can visit the ancient Kasbahs in the palm groves. A trip up into the Dades Gorges is worth your time as you experience this amazing natural wonder. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you can visit this southern town, probably most famous now for the films that have been produced in the area. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Morning departure for the beautiful oasis town of Taliouine known as Morocco’s Saffron capital. Continue to Taroudant once a former regional capital and the first capital city of the Saadian dynasty located at the intersection of Souss valley and the mountains of the High Atlas, the “little Marrakech” gives an excellent overview of southern Morocco. Taroudant offers a pleasant setting and a unique product to researchers who rest in the shade of ochre walls and the sweetness of life and Berber hospitality of Moroccans in a temperate climate throughout the year. Visit the remarkably picturesque souks known for leather, iron, wood, painted wood, ceramics, and jewelry Berber money. Afternoon at leisure.
After Breakfast departs towards Agadir with its panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean, Set on a crescent of sand, the wide shallow beach of Agadir stretches as far as the eye can see. After lunch in Agadir, Our journey continues to the North towards Essaouira, a place with a strong feeling where you explore Phoenician, Berber, Portuguese, Jewish, and French past in the well-preserved architecture, with its small alleyways and whitewashed buildings with blue paintwork and enchanting fishing harbor reflecting the Portuguese character of settlers from the 16th century.
After breakfast, we Departure to Marrakech via the scenic inland road with the forest of the Argan trees which only exist in this region of the world, we stop to take pictures with goats harvesting’ Argan fruits. Then, visit an Argan oil cooperative run by local women… you can take a tour to learn how argan oil is made, chat with the women, and pick up treats like homemade soap or ‘Amlou’ a traditional Moroccan jam to bring home. Then we continue to Marrakech. Overnight at the hotel/Riad.
Today is a sightseeing day tour of Marrakesh, the second oldest imperial city known as the “Pearl of the South” to discover the captivating history and rich cultural heritage of this ancient city, you will visit the Saadian tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque the tallest building in the city, the Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens. You will explore the souks and the world’s famous Djemaa El Fna place which offers various entertainments (storytellers, water sellers, acrobats, snake-charmers, magicians, musicians, orange-juice sellers, open-air barbecue food stalls. It is optional to have a Fantasia dinner at a local restaurant. Enjoy the fantasia spectacle that includes horses shows, folkloric troops from different Moroccan regions, and belly dancers. Overnight.
Morning at leisure for browsing around the medina. Optional half-day excursion to nearby Ourika valley Southwards of Marrakech to experience the authentic traditional Berber life.
After a relaxed morning, your last day of travel will take you back to Casablanca. For those wishing for extra time in Marrakech, feel free to depart in the early afternoon. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
